Costaripa
Costaripa Winery represents an excellence of Lombard enology, in particular of the refined wines of Lake Garda. Based in Moniga del Garda, Costaripa owns vineyards in the morainic hills west of the lake in the province of Brescia in the Valtènesi area and is one of the most important wineries of this appellation. The soul of the winery is Mattia Vezzola, an established winemaker, recognized as one of the most valuable consultants in the production of Franciacorta DOCG sparkling wines of successful brands. Mattia Vezzola's passion for the world of bubbles has led to the development of two souls in the cellar. The first is that of still wines based on traditional grape varieties, whose flagship is the Groppello-based rosé wine, called Chiaretto. The other soul is that of the traditional method sparkling wines based on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
But the history of Costaripa is mainly linked to rosé wines. In fact, since its foundation in 1936, the winery has made pink wine making its strong point. It was one of the first Italian wineries to believe in the exclusive vinification of rosé wines, that is to think of them from the vineyard to the cellar as wines in their own right and not just as a substitute for a red vinification. The Garda area has undoubtedly favored this approach, in fact the morainic soils of these hills give above all finesse and acidity to the wines, excellent for the production of elegant and crisp rosé wines.
Costaripa’s Molmenti rosé wine is recognized by guides and critics as one of the most significant Italian rosé wines. It is even produced with an aging in wood, to show that pink wines have nothing inferior to other colors. Costaripa cultivates 65 hectares of vineyards and has an annual production of 480,000 bottles.
