Piria is a traditional Lambrusco di Sorbara produced with a blend that also includes the Salamino variety. The latter gives color and body to the wine, which is an ideal companion for lunches based on cured meats, pork or tortellini in broth. It has an intense, fruity, dry and sparkling taste and an irresistible drink. The grapes come from a highly suitable area such as that of Cristo, which is the point where the Secchia and Panaro rivers come closest. The soil at this point is rich in sand and silt; therefore the wines are rich in acidity and have clean-cut, pronounced aromas. Paltrinieri's expert and artisanal hand is able to give an elegant personality even to simple wines such as Piria.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete vats. Subsequently, the fizziness is created with a second fermentation in an autoclave according to the tank method.
