From Italy’s east coast a tasty and well-balanced white ideal with vegetarian food or seafood.
Falanghina is one of the oldest grape varieties in southern Italy, typical of Campania. Di Majo Norante cultivates the grapes of this Falanghina on the hills near the Adriatic coast in the Ramitelli Estate, in province of Campobasso. The soils between 50 and 100 meters above sea level are mainly clayey of alluvial origin and enjoy a warm and dry climate influenced by constant sea breezes that favor the ripening of healthy grapes rich in flavor compounds. Wines tend to have excellent body and fruity taste.
The grapes are harvested by hand in October. They are de-stemmed, pressed and left to macerate for 24-36 hours in the cold with the skins. They are then pressed and the free-run must without the skins ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine also carries out malolactic fermentation and stays in steel until bottling.
