The Villa Montepaldi farm in the township of San Casciano Val di Pesa, in Tuscany, has belonged to the University of Florence since 1989. As an estate, Villa Montepladi has an almost millennial history: from the Monastery of Passignano it passed into the hands of noble Florentine families, including the Acciaioli, the Medici and the Corsini. It has always been a model farm dedicated to the production of wine, wheat and oil.
Today academic research and teaching merge with the productive one. In fact, the production is managed in all respects as a commercial activity and has a range of traditional and innovative Tuscan wine labels. Villa Montepaldi boasts an in-depth knowledge of the area, which falls within the Chianti Classico appellation.
