List of products by brand Tasca d’Almerita
Tasca d’Almerita
The history of Sicilian wine passes through Tasca d’Almerita, the Tasca family winery, founded in 1830. The historic headquarters are located in Regaleali in the Palermo hinterland, where the property extends over 500 hectares high in the hills. The strong point of the Regaleali estate is the altitude of the vineyards, between 500 and 900 meters above sea level, which is an excellent advantage for the southern latitude of Sicily.
Its best known and iconic wine is Riserva del Conte, dedicated to Count Giuseppe Tasca who since 1950 gave a qualitative change to the company. Rosso del Conte was one of the first successful Sicilian red wines, produced starting from 1970 with Nero d'Avola with modern enological criteria. Since the 1980s, Tasca d'Almerita has introduced international varieties to Sicily, without forgetting the heritage of native grapes. Today the production is very articulated and positioned on a high quality level.
Tasca d’Almerita has grown in the meantime and today has 5 estates in different parts of Sicily; in addition to the historic one of Regaleali, the others are located in Salina, on Etna, on the island of Mozia and in Monreale.
In all, it manages 455 hectares of vineyards and annually produces 2,434,000 bottles from its estates.
