The Rounagle estate is located in the northernmost part of the Armagnac region, the Ténarèze, and has 23 hectares of vineyards of which 20 are currently cultivated to produce wines to be distilled and transformed into fine Armagnac.
The estate has been dedicated for centuries to the production of wines suitable for distillation, as the clayey calcareous soil with variable percentage of sand guarantees excellent quality, comparable to that of Bas Armagnac, considered the heart of the appellation.
In the past, the estate used to sell its wines to other distilleries, except for a small amount of spirit for private use and for local distribution only. Following a change of ownership, Rounagle branded Armagnac labels began to be distilled and produced on their own. Currently the distillery has a column still for continuous distillation and two discontinuous stills. Armagnac Rounagle have a generous fruity character and a long aromatic finish.
