Orma is a young and quite small Tuscan winery, but its 5 hectares of vineyards are perfectly positioned in the heart of the Bolgheri amphitheatre, just east of Via Bolgherese in the foothills of the Bolgheri DOC. The soil is deep and rich in clay and stones with a little of sand. The location benefits a lot of sunlight thanks to the proximity of the sea, which also influences the microclimate, that is relatively mild all year round; in summer, the sea breezes cool the nights and create a temperature range; therefore the grapes retain acidity and accumulate flavor compounds.
Bordeaux grape varieties are cultivated in vineyards with a high planting density. Two wines are produced: the main label has the winery’s name: Orma; the second one is a Bolgheri DOC named Passi di Orma.
The winery belongs to the eclectic entrepreneur Antonio Moretti Cuseri, former owner of Tenuta Sette Ponti in the Arezzo area.
