Founded in 1972 by Paolo Rabotti and his wife Paola in Cazzago San Martino, today Monte Rossa is in the hands of his son Emanuele, who manages 70 hectares of vineyards in different areas of the Franciacorta region and produces half a million bottles a year.
Monte Rossa was among the first companies to convert from the production of still wines to the creation of sparkling wines according to traditional method and Paolo Rabotti was the first president of the Franciacorta Consortium born in 1990. Since 2003 they have been producing only Franciacorta sparkling wine.
Monte Rossa is the typical Franciacorta company that knows how to keep together entrepreneurial pragmatism and an artisan approach in the cellar, aware that only the high quality of the product can make a difference in the market competition.
At the end of the 1980s, the search for superior quality led Emanuele Rabotti to develop Franciacorta Cabochon, a line of sparkling wines prized as jewels, which later left the company range as an independent brand.
