Mionetto is a historic winery on the hills of Valdobbiadene, suited to produce the best Prosecco DOCG; it was founded by Francesco Mionetto in 1887. Over time the winery has specialized in the production of Prosecco in different types, like “frizzante” (semi sparkling) and “spumante” (sparkling), both DOC and DOCG.
Mionetto collaborates with a very extensive network of wine and grape suppliers and is particularly dedicated to the transformation of these base wines into splendid bubbles with the tank method. Mionetto todays produces not only Prosecco but also other sparkling wines based on the tank method, becoming a leader in sparkling wine production throughout the north-east of Italy. It is one of the best-known Prosecco brands all over the world.
Since 2008 Mionetto has been controlled by the German group Henkell Freixene, world leader in the production of sparkling wines.
