Back in the first years of 1900, Luigi and Silvio Barbieri (two Italian brothers from Padova) inherited a distillery from their father. In 1919 they came up with an original recipe of a new liqueur, presenting it to the public at an exhibition in Padova.
Aperol wrote the Italian history becoming one of the most preferred liqueurs for the “aperitivo”, especially among the young generation. At the beginning of the current century, Aperol was acquired by Campari Group; this move allowed Aperol to gain more international awareness other than developing its brand more strategically.
