Fattoria Aldobrandesca is one of the Tuscan estates of the Antinori family have acquired and restructured to increase their product portfolio. Located in the tufa area of southern Tuscany, precisely in Sovana (province of Grosseto), it has 100 hectares of vineyards. The wine estate is located right next to the Città del Tufo archaeological park, where the soils have volcanic origin and are crossed by an Etruscan road network: the so-called “Vie Cave”. The Aleatico grape-variety has always been present in this area. From Aleatico the Antinori make two versions: a sweet red and a dry rosé. The rosé is a novelty that the Antinori have come up with a few years ago, giving a new face to this aromatic grape. But in this area the Marquis Piero Antinori also wanted to experiment by introducing a grape-variety that comes from afar: Malbec.
