Elena Walch from architect has become a winemaker; in a few years she has brought her cellar to excellence in the South Tyrolean panorama and beyond. Her wines are loved and appreciated all over the world.
In the 1980s she decided to take care of the vineyards that her husband's family had always cultivated in Termeno on the right bank of the Adige south of Bolzano. She turned the estate into a production of absolute value. She has identified the best vineyards of the estate by creating true enological jewels, which in France would be called "Grand Cru", such as Kastelaz and Castel Ringberg. Her daughters support her in managing the activities.
The winery is attentive to environmental sustainability and is converting the vineyards to organic farming. From 60 hectares of vineyards Elena Walch produces 560,000 bottles a year.
