Contadi Castaldi is the second winery that Vittorio Moretti owns in Franciacorta together with Bellavista. The headquarters are located in a former furnace in Adro. It was transformed into a cellar in the 1980s when Franciacorta sparkling wines reached commercial success. The galleries of the former furnace will thus host the bottles of Franciacorta aging on the lees.
Contadi Castaldi owns 180 hectares of vineyards in various parts of Franciacorta and grows Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.
The base wines partially carry out malolactic fermentation and are sometimes also subjected to aging in wood.
According to the owner’s vision, Contadi Castaldi is the young face of Franciacorta. It produces 1.100.0000 bottles a year.
