Castelnau was born in 1916 in Reims, France, with the idea of creating a Champagne with a delicate, generous and distinctive style; during the 1920s this brand spread to some of the best restaurants in Paris, and in the 1930s it began its expansion outside the French borders arriving in Milan, Rotterdam, Dakar and Quebec; in the following years the brand became increasingly consolidated in the global market.

The grapes used are those imposed by the specifications, namely Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and come from 150 cru vineyards in the region, including: the grand crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, the crus of the Vallée de la Marne, the Massif de Saint-Thierry and the Côte des Bars, not forgetting the young regions of Vitryat and Sézanne.

The winery aims to make wines characterized by great elegance and a very fine bubble to do this a long aging on yeasts is used, which grants Champagne a unique character and an inimitable aromatic signature.
