Castellinuzza is a historic winery located on the hills of Lamole in the municipality of Greve in Chianti. For lovers of Chianti Classico, Lamole is a significant place. To get to Lamole you have to drive up a winding road that in a few minutes rises from 250 to 600 m at the foot of Monte San Michele, the highest of the Chianti Mountains.
Lamole vineyards are steep and often terraced, they enjoy a cool microclimate and are surrounded by woods. The soil is composed of layered sandstone and limestone and has a sand on the surface. Sangiovese here matures later than in other places, but gives fragrant and elegant wines.

Castellinuzza farm has belonged to the Cinuzzi family since 1400. In the 20 hectares of land, only 2 hectares are vineyards and they produce just 7,000 bottles a year. Sangiovese is the most cultivated variety (95% of the total) together with other red grape varieties traditionally present in this area (Canaiolo and Malvasia nera).
Castellinuzza mainly produces Chianti Classico with a traditional style and is characterized by the longevity of its wines, especially the Riserva. Among other products of Castellinuzza you’ll find Vin Santo and the excellent extra virgin olive oil of Chianti Classico DOP.
