Borgogno

Borgogno undoubtedly expresses the tradition of Langhe. It is a very ancient winery; it was founded in 1761 and was carried on by several generations of the Borgogno family until 2008, when it passed into the hands of the entrepreneur Farinetti (owner of Eataly), who invested without changing the philosophy of the wine producing company. The only changes were the renovation of the historic building of the cellars in the municipality of Barolo and the conversion to organic.
Borgogno owns vineyards in some of the most splendid Crus of Barolo: Liste, Fossati, Cannubi and Cannubi San Lorenzo, from which it produces single-vineyard Barolo wines. It also owns vineyards in Langhe outside the Barolo area, devoted to Riesling grapes and others in the Tortona hills where it grows Timorasso grapes.
In the cellar fermentations made with indigenous yeasts and they take place in concrete vats brought back to new splendor according to the most current oenological principles. From 30 hectares of vineyards Borgogno produces about 280,000 bottles a year.
