Benromach is perhaps the smallest distillery in Speyside, with a traditional inspiration, managed with the craftsmanship of a family business. Speyside is a region in the north-east of Scotland renowned for producing less full-bodied whiskys than those of the Highlands but more refined. The Benromach distillery was founded in 1898 in Ferres in the Speyside region and has distinguished itself for having focused on single malt whisky when the practice was still that of blended whisky. As has happened to many other distilleries, over time it has been closed and reopened with changes of ownership.

The production is based on the use of highly selected local barley and delicate peaking. Furthermore, the use of soft water from a nearby spring is essential for the quality of their whiskies. Much attention is also given to the fermentation phase of the malt, which takes place slowly with two types of yeast. The distillation is double in traditional copper stills. All operations are manual and based on skills and experience acquired over the years. Benromach Whiskies are distinguished by their finesse and richness of taste, the quality of which is attested by numerous medals and prizes received in dedicated competitions.
