Ornello red wine is rich in aromas and flavor thanks to the combination of 4 grape varieties and maturation in French barriques, but it retains a medium structure and an easy drinkability to adapt to multiple serving occasions. It comes from the sunny Tuscan Maremma in the province of Grosseto. The vineyards have clayey soils rich in stones and are cultivated with high planting density. The yields are low and this makes the grapes and wine so concentrated.
The grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature separately by variety. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for 12 months in French barriques, half of which are new.
