Prunotto has been producing Occhetti wine since the 1970s. It is obtained with Nebbiolo grapes from owned vineyards in excellent positions in various villages of the Langhe. Compared to Barbaresco and Barolo, Langhe Nebbiolo is an immediately enjoyable wine, easily accessible, despite the complexity and depth of every great Nebbiolo wine.
The soil of the vineyards is composed of shallow sand with gravel and clay-limestone marl. This gives Nebbiolo wine austerity and aging potential.
The grapes, de-stemmed and crushed, ferment in stainless steel vats with temperature control. The wine also carries out malolactic fermentation and subsequently ages for 18 months in oak barrels of various sizes.

Taste: intense, precise and vigorous tannins, long finish.

It is enjoyable in its youth but can also age for a few years. We recommend pairing it with pasta with meat sauce.
