Greco del Molise 2023
Di Majo Norante produces his Greco with grapes harvested at full ripeness in Contrada Camarda at 200 meters above sea level and makes it an intense white wine, with full body and balance. Greco is an important white grape variety widespread in southern Italy. Among its main characteristics are the phenolic richness, which gives structure to the wines and an excellent acidity, which also makes them long-lived. The harvest at full ripeness in October allows Di Majo Norante to harvest grapes where sugars and acids are in balance and thus the wine also stands out from other more sharp and razy expressions of Greco. On the contrary, with a maceration on the skins the wine becomes bolder and rounder. The result is a tasty white wine with great personality.
The harvest is done manually in October. The grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and left to cold macerate for about 36 hours. Then they are pressed to extract the liquid part of the must which ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature.
The wine remains in steel until bottling.
