Name: Rita, Surname: Tua. This means Tua Rita, an indisputably successful boutique winery in Suvereto in the Tuscan coast. The estate has 50 hectares of vineyards and produces 350,000 bottles a year of territorial wines, which summarize the Mediterranean climate of the Tuscan coast and the mineral-rich soil of the Val di Cornia. Val di Cornia extends from the promontory of Piombino in the province of Livorno to to the metalliferous hills in the interior. The climate is hot and dry, influenced by sea breezes and is distinguished by the presence of iron minerals in the soil.
Tua Rita was born almost by chance when Rita and her husband Virgilio in the 1980s bought a farm in the countryside simply as a retreat in nature. The passion for wine pushes them to try to make wine from the 2 hectares of vineyards, that were present. From that attempt, a winery of primary importance was actually born. Tua Rita's Redigaffi wine is one of the few Italian wines listed in the Liv-Ex financial index of investment labels at the London Stock Exchange.
The winery is certified organic and is managed by Rita's daughter Simena and her husband, Stefano Frascolla.
