Tenuta Ulisse perfectly represents the evolution of viticulture in the Abruzzo region in recent years. The Ulisse family founded the winery in 2006 in the Chieti area when regional enology was taking the path of quality, abandoning intensive cultivation with high yields. They decided to focus on the typical varieties of Abruzzo: not only Montepulciano, but also Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina, Cococciola. In reality there is also no shortage of international varieties, both black and white, such as Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay.

The vineyards extend in the hinterland of Ortona in the province of Chieti about 10 km away from the Adriatic coast, where the soils are clayey and calcareous; the care of the operations in the vineyard is an indication of the quality objective to which the winery aims.
In the cellar there are many small tanks to be able to make separate vinifications of the individual varieties and individual plots. This gives Tenuta Ulisse the possibility to create a wide range of labels, each with a specific personality. This approach corresponds to their desire to enhance the regional tradition, applying the most modern knowledge in the agronomic and oenological field. To carry on the business are the brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse, young and enterprising; they have obtained recognition within ten years from the main sector guides. Tenuta Ulisse produces 850,000 bottles annually.
