Santa Lucia is a small Franciacorta winery founded in Erbusco in 1999 by Pierluigi Villa, after having worked for decades as a consultant agronomist for other wineries in the area. So even if the winery's activity is recent, it boasts an important experience behind it. Pierluigi Villa, who works in the company with his wife and children, was also a collaborator of the University of Milan in the Franciacorta zoning study and contributed to the drafting of the DOCG specification.
Today the Santa Lucia winery manages 30 hectares of vineyards in the villages of Erbusco, Rodengo Saiano, Capriolo, Passirano and Rovato in the province of Brescia. They are all vineyards in strategic positions for their wine aptitude. Some of the vineyards are real “clos”, as French would say, that is, they are surrounded by stone walls as if they were gardens. The Santa Lucia winery is certified organic and from the very beginning has believed in respect for the environment and nature as a necessary condition for producing quality wines. Their wines are always elegant and based on freshness rather than power.
