Rocca di Montemassi is a large estate with 180 hectares of vineyards in Maremma, precisely in Roccastrada, and belongs to the Venetian Zonin family. The vineyards are 20 km from the Gulf of Follonica on the Tyrrhenian Sea and enjoy a generally warm and dry climate. The proximity of the sea influences the microclimate of the vineyards.
The soils are mainly clayey and rich in minerals. In fact, in this area there has always been an important mining activity in the past. There are all the conditions for making quality wines. Zonin renovated the buildings with the aim of making them welcoming and efficient. The management of the activities is based on the utmost respect for the territory and agricultural traditions.

Both indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese and Vermentino and international ones - Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Viognier and Syrah - are grown on the estate. Therefore Rocca di Montemassi is able to offer a wide range of wines, from the traditional Monteregio di Massa Marittima to more modern labels based on international grape varieties.
