The Castel Faglia estate was founded in 1989 by the Emilian Cavicchioli family following the so-called “Franciacorta” miracle. In the 1980s, in fact, following the investment of large entrepreneurs, the territory of Franciacorta established itself on the wine scene as an area dedicated to the production of traditioanl method sparkling wines.
In just a few years, Franciacorta sparkling wines have become the best-known wines of Lombardy and have attracted and stimulated investments from both locals and others from abroad, such as the Cavicchioli family. The estate owns 17 hectares of vineyards, located in small terraces in Calino in the township of Cazzago San Martino, province of Brescia.
The soils of morainic origin rich in stones favor the development of fine and elegant aromas in the wines and the mild microclimate due to the proximity of Lake Iseo allows the grapes to ripen perfectly.
The Castel Faglia estate mainly grows white grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot bianco; Pinot Noir is very little. The style of the wines is the fine and elegant one typical of Franciacorta. The Monogram brand identifies a Franciacorta line produced by the winery, dedicated to catering.
