La Poderina is a beautiful estate in Montalcino, located in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area, that is on the south-east side. This area is particularly suited and sought after by many producers, because it gives wines of great power and elegance. It is the least rainy area of the Montalcino hill, as it is protected by the highest mountain Monte Amiata. It has compact layered soils of clay and limestone with volcanic elements.
La Poderina has changed ownership several times and is now part of the Tenute del Cerro group, which has improved its wine making and also manages hospitality in two apartments within the estate.
