La Guardiense was born in the 1960s from 30 vintners and today is the largest cooperative winery in Campania; it is located in the province of Benevento in the Sannio area and produces a varied range of labels starting from native Campania varieties.
There are 1,000 conferring members, who in total manage 1,500 hectares of vineyards, supervised by one of the most famous winemakers in Italy: Riccardo Cotarella.
La Guardiense has specialized on the Falanghina grape which is grown on 600 of the total 1500 hectares. La Guardiense produces 5 million bottles a year.
