Joaquin, more than a winery, is the name of an ambitious venture founded by Raffaele Pagano in the 2000s by selecting vineyards in the most suitable areas of Irpinia and beyond. Its wines are true exercises of style, in search of a deep and authentic taste of the territory of the province of Avellino, which is among the best suited in Italy. The calcareous and clayey subsoil and the soil of volcanic origin are unique, the southern latitude allows for excellent sunlight, but the high altitude and the hilly morphology, sometimes even harsh, guarantee a mild climate with a high diurnal temperature range. These are perfect conditions for having excellent grapes from which Raffaele Pagano experiments with original and unique wines. The headquarters of the Joaquin winery is in Montefalcione in the province of Avellino between 400 and 500 meters, but the vineyards are not all homogeneous, some are located in various places in the region, among the most suitable. The production is artisanal in the noblest sense of the term: each wine is a unique piece, the labels come out in limited editions, highly sought after by enthusiasts, different every year. For each wine, Raffaele Pagano even makes use of different consultants and collaborators, identified on the basis of the specific oenological objective.
