Founded by the Borro family in the Middle Ages, the estate is now in the hands of Ferragamo, the prestigious Florentine fashion house. The estate extends for over 1000 acres and is located in a dream location in the Valdarno, in the province of Arezzo. A large investment in the late 1990s was used to restore the vineyards and renovate the villas, where a prestigious luxury resort is located. In fact, Il Borro is not just a winery, but an oasis of peace, tranquility and extraordinary beauty, because Salvatore Ferragamo wanted to revive all the farm's agricultural activities and loved to take care of the estate to preserve its splendor.
Today the agricultural management of the vineyards is managed organically and with biodynamic practices. Both international varieties and Sangiovese are grown in the vineyard and the results are excellent. The historic underground cellars have been restored to accommodate barrels and barriques for aging the wines.
The annual production consists of 200,000 bottles, the quality of which is constantly increasing.
