Domaine Chatelain has been producing wines in Pouilly sur Loire for 12 generations. It is internationally appreciated for the authentic character of its wines.
The winery is based in Pouilly sul Loire in the heart of the production area of the greatest Sauvignon blanc in the world: the Pouilly-Fumé. The wine region is located upstream of the Loire river in central France, away from the sea, where the climate is continental and humid. The landscape is made up of gentle hills with limestone and silica-rich clay soils.
The Domaine Chatelain cultivates 30 hectares of vineyards formed by numerous plots with different soils spread over 6 municipalities. This diversity allows them to diversify the production into several labels, in which Sauvignon blanc plays the role of interpreter of the different territories. Domaine Chatelain’s production philosophy aims to make wines for pairing with food. Their wine are though enjoyable on any occasion.
