That of Conti Formentini (Formentini Counts), based in San Floriano del Collio in the province of Gorizia, is one of the oldest wineries in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the year of foundation dates back to 1520. The owned vineyards extend for 75 hectares on the suitable hills of Collio subregion. Since it belongs to the Italian Wines Group, it also includes the vintners who were once associated in the Steverjan cooperative of San Floriano. The productive range includes DOC Collio wines produced from the grapes grown in the area: Ribolla giallo, Friulano, Sauvignon blanc, Pinot grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot.
Conti Formentini produces about 400,000 bottles a year, distinguishing itself in particular for wines with an excellent quality-price ratio.
