That of the D’Arco is a noble family present in Trentino since the Middle Ages, which received the title of "Counts" in the fourteenth century. They resided in the fortified castle of Arco located on a cliff between the Brenta Dolomites and Lake Garda. The castle was owned by the family until 1982.
Today Conti d’Arco is an important brand of the Grruppo Ialiano Vini and produces typical Trentino wines, still and sparkling, with grapes harvested in the so-called Valle dei Laghi. It is a picturesque valley north of Lake Garda famous for its lakes such as Lake Cavedine and Lake Toblino.
The cool climate of the valley gives life to elegant red wines with local grapes such as Marzemino and Teroldego but also international ones such as Cabernet Sauvignon. The white wines, offered in the elongated bottle, are produced with Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. Finally, there is also a line of Trentodoc sparkling wines.
