Collemassari

ColleMassari was founded in 1998 by siblings Maria Iris and Claudio Tipa and currently comprises four estates: Castello di ColleMassari, Podere Grattamacco since 2002, Fattoria Poggio di Sotto since 2011 and Tenuta San Giorgio since 2016. All the estates are following or converting to an organic regime.

Castello di ColleMassari: is located in Cinigiano at the foot of Mount Amiata, in the Montecucco DOC area, at an altitude of about 320 m. The soil is particularly varied and varies greatly depending on the vine variety in question, mainly clayey.

Podere Grattamacco: located between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, situated in the Bolgheri DOC, between 200/300 m above sea level. The soil can be divided into 3 zones: the first with silts and red sands in the Alberello vineyard, the second with limestone-marly flysch in the mid-western part, and the third with limestone-marly banks mixed with sand in the eastern part.

Tenuta San Giorgio: located near Castelnuovo dell'Abate at an altitude of about 400 m, it falls within the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The soil is mainly clayey.

Poggio di Sotto: located south-east of Montalcino, thus falling within its appellation, at an altitude of between 200 and 400 m. The soil is mainly clay and limestone.
