Paul-François Vranken, a young entrepreneur, decided to settle in Champagne, in the Sézanne region, in 1976 to found his own champagne house. In 1978, together with his first winemaker Dominique Pichart, he gave life to the Vranken taste, creating fruity and light champagnes that satisfy even the most demanding palates. The house has found its style and will remain true to it. Nowadays, it is one of the few houses that produces its champagnes from mostly its own grapes. The remaining grapes come from affiliated and non-affiliated winegrowers, who cultivate their vineyards with the same rigour and respect for the environment that distinguishes the maison. Indeed, Vranken's aim is to develop its activities in a sustainable manner and since 2015 it has been holding the labels 'Viticulture Durable en Champagne' (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne) and 'Haute Valeur Environnementale' (High Environmental Value). Since 2002, Maison Pommery has also been part of the Vranken group.
