Capichera is one of the main Sardinian wineries based in Arzachena in the province of Sassari, founded by the Ragnedda family. The Ragnedda brothers have marked important stages in the evolution of modern Sardinian wines, making the whole world aware of the potential of the Gallura area and its traditional grape variety: Vermentino.
The wine that bears the name Capichera, produced since 1980, is a true icon of Sardinian white wine and still today the most famous and loved label of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG. Gallura is not a comfortable land, it is an arid environment, where the vineyards rise on granite rocks stealing space from the Mediterranean scrub. But it is precisely here that the majority of the company's 50 hectares of vineyards are concentrated. In 40 years the winery has grown but it is always managed on a family level and has not lost the character of artisanal production focused on the pursuit of excellence. Today they produce various Vermentino labels, flanked also by red and rosé wines produced with other vine varieties that have settled in the Gallura area.
