List of products by brand Campo alle Comete
Campo alle Comete
Campo alle Comete was founded in Bolgheri in 2016 by Antonio Capaldo, owner of Feudi San Gregorio in Irpinia. The estate has several vineyard plots in different positions within the Bolgheri DOC, some are in the flat area near Via Bolgherese, others on the first hills not far from the town of Castagneto Carducci. In all, there are 15 hectares of cultivated vineyards with high planting density (6500-7500 plants per hectare).
The name “Campo alle Comete” (Comets field) was chosen because the brightness of Bolgheri has impressed Antonio since his arrival and the brightness is also an important factor for the ripening of the international grape varieties typical of Bolgheri wines. In fact, the proximity of the sea determines a reflection of the sun during the day which illuminates the vineyards. The area also enjoys a mild climate all year round with daily temperature variations in summer due to sea breezes.
The cellar contains barriques, tonneau and oak barrels, to age wines produced with Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit verdot, according to the Bordeaux model that has proved successful in Bolgheri.
Campo alle Comete produces 170,000 bottles per year.
