After a past as sharecropping, common to many realities in the Oltrepò Pavese, the winery of the Calatroni family has emancipated itself and has grown thanks to considerable investments to produce the traditional wines of the area. The business continues to be managed on a family level and the production is artisanal.
The winery is located in the valley of the Versa stream and the vineyards extend between Santa Maria della Versa and Montecalvo Versiggia between 200 and 400 m above sea level.
Over the years, Calatroni have developed an articulated range of products. In particular, they have a line dedicated to traditional method sparkling wines and a line of traditional wines including still and fizzy wines, such as Bonarda and Sangue di Giuda. Their sparkling wines are the flagship of the production, always rewarded by the critics in recent years.
They manage 20 hectares of vineyards in certified organic farming and produce 90,000 bottles a year. They also run a farm where you can eat traditional local dishes.
