Founded in 1992 in Sirmione by the Tiraboschi family, Ca 'Lojera winery soon became an important reference for Lugana wine, the first DOC of Lombardy and the most exported Lombard wine.
The Lugana area extends on the southern shore of Lake Garda between the provinces of Brescia and Verona. In ancient times it was a swampy bush, which was reclaimed during the domination of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
The wines of this area have an ancient reputation and today they are the most loved whites by the Germans. The characteristic of this area is the soil formed by white clay with presence of limestone, left by the melting of glaciers in prehistoric times. It is a difficult soil to work because it is muddy when wet and very hard when dry.
The Turbiana grape, historically cultivated in this land, produces full-bodied, fresh and savory wines with intense aromas of almond and citrus. Over the years, Ca 'Lojera has shown a particular attention and love for the Turbiana grape, which it offers in various labels and also in an evolved version, with aging in wood, which is not very common. Ca 'Lojera cultivates about 20 hectares of vineyards from which it produces 160,000 bottles a year.
