Brezza creates reliable Barolo of Barolo (Barolo wine of the village of Barolo), with a classic and traditional style; the company headquarters is right in the center of the town of Barolo. The Brezza family has been making wine since 1885 and has been bottling it on their own since 1910. Today they also run a hotel and restaurant in Barolo facing the vineyards.
Some of their vineyards extend in the historical crus of Cannubi, Sarmassa and Castellero in the municipality of Barolo. For them, being traditionalists does not mean ignoring the change, on the contrary they were among the first in the Langhe to convert vineyards to certified organic farming and today they are experimenting, for example, with glass stoppers for ready-to-drink wines such as Barbera.
Their production philosophy is not very interventionist. In the vineyard they take care to have little environmental impact and maintain the natural richness of the soil. They carefully harvest by hand and ferment the grapes in the cellar without the use of selected yeasts, but only with natural spontaneous yeasts. They employ large barrels that do not add oaky flavors to the wine.
They produce 100,000 bottles a year, all DOC or DOCG level, with their own grapes grown in about twenty hectares of vineyards in the Langhe, most of them in the municipality of Barolo.
