The Bougrier family has been involved in the promotion of Loire Valley wines for more than 130 years and is today recognised as one of the few strictly family-run companies with vineyards stretching from Nantes to Sancerre. Currently, the company is managed by the fifth and sixth generations of the family, with Nicolas and Sophie working closely with their father Noel Bougrier. Under their leadership, the company has established itself as one of the largest in the Loire and France. It consists of three cellars equipped with the most modern winemaking facilities, spread out over the entire Loire area so that it can produce all the different wines this region has to offer. There are four main wine-growing areas in this vast area: the vineyards of Centre-Val de Loire, Touraine, Anjou-Saumur and Pays Nantais. Each region has its own geology and its own grape varieties, which give the vineyards much diversity and make them among the most dynamic and lively in France. The winery's main grape variety is undoubtedly Sauvignon Blanc, which gives rise to some of the finest bottles produced in the Loire: Pouilly-Fumè and Sancerre.
