Bernard Gaucher’s champagnes are elegant, high-quality products and they respect the territory. Only a few passionate people compose the staff that everyday works at Bernard Gaucher every, such as Guillaume. He spends most of his time in the middle of the vineyards and the cellars, and his job is to elaborate the champagne too. Obviously, during periods requiring more work, like the harvest time, other workers join the team to help choose and harvest carefully by hands the grapes that will become high-quality champagnes.
The vineyards are located in the French department of Aube (in the former Champagne-Ardenne region, now called Grand Est), in the heart of the “Côte des Bar”, between the cities of Arconville, Urville and Ailleville, one of the most prestigious area of Champagne’s territory.
Only a part of the vineyards is property of the House Bernard Gaucher, the other is rented. The cultivated kind of grapes is basically Pinot Noir, but also Chardonnay.
