Leverano Negroamaro Liranu Riserva 2021
The name Liranu is the dialect expression of Leverano, not only the municipality where the Conti Zecca winery is located, but also the name of the DOC that insists on that territory. The municipality of Leverano has always been considered particularly suited for Negroamaro grape variety and this wine is a great example of this. It is produced with modern techniques in the management of the vineyard and the cellar but without abandoning the territorial character of the wine, that is made with the most important grape variety of Salento. The result is a fascinating and seductive wine, with a soft taste and complex aromas. The Negroamaro grapes come from a single vineyard of 4.9 hectares, called La Traglia, with particularly clayey soil, which favors power and structure in the wine.
The de-stemmed grapes ferment in stainless steel vats with temperature control. Maceration with the skins lasts 8-10 days. After racking, the wine also carries out malolactic fermentation and subsequently ages in large oak barrels of 30 hectoliters and in coated cement tanks.
