Chianti DOCG Castiglioni 2023

It is a young and ready-to-drink red wine produced by Frescobaldi in Castiglioni estate in the hilly area of Montespertoli in the province of Florence. Tenuta Castiglioni is the historic place where the Frescobaldi family started their wine business. The vineyards extend over gentle hills long in the Pesa Valley, where the climate is rather mild and the soil is predominantly clayey. These conditions enhance the fruity flavors of Sangiovese with which Chianti wine has always been produced in this area.

The harvest took place regularly in mid-September. The grapes were de-stemmed and the alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. After racking, the wine also underwent malolactic fermentation in steel vats and was bottled after a few months with no contact with wooden barrels.
